Teen Kits
at the Slayton Public Library

Teen kits are packets that were developed with a grant from the
Library Develoment and Services department of
Children, Family and Learning.
They were created especially for young adults, ages 13-19.
The loan period is one week, and the kits may be renewed two times.

-Babysitting
Learn the basics to being a great babysitter. Kit includes: Dr. Lee Salk's Super Sitters, emergency procedure flip chart, children's books, first aid, snack ideas, craft ideas & activities.
-Going to College
Filled with all of the information tools students need to plan their college career, from recording their transcripts to choosing a college and finding financial aid.
-Going to Work
Everything you need to land your job: resume instructions, employment applications, interview tips, internet job search addresses.
-Please Understand Me
Contains the books, Please Understand Me II, and Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul .
-Reading the Classics
Over 50 classic sets. Each includes a written copy of the book, the movie version, and movie notes. Some kits contain Cliffs Notes.
-Saturday Night Fever
Contains books filled with activites and crafts, a deck of cards and magic trick book, "make your own calendar" to keep, markers, glow in the dark paint. Everything you need to have fun on a Saturday night.
-Sick
When you are sick you can curl up with a good book or tape. In this kit you will find Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul", and Complete book of Solitaire and Patience Games.
-Sleep Over
Make the most of your sleepovers with this kit. Mini mysteries to solve, wacky things to make, card gmaes to play and scaries to read out loud are included. There is also a pack of "Kid Talk Cards" and regular playing cards for those late night parties.
-Travel
Everything packed into the travel kit backpack is geared at the traveler: magnetic games, journal, atlas, pens and paper, clipboard, cartoon book, etc. You can fill those long hours riding in the car with fun and games with this kit.
-Writing a Journal
This kit will show you how to start writing your very own journal. Containing the book, Writing Your Life , the kit also has a "My Life" booklet that the patron can keep.
