| Welcome to the Lamberton Public Library Arm Chair Traveler Series Have you ever dreamed of traveling the world? With the colder weather, thoughts may drift to more exotic places than southwest Minnesota. The Friends of the Library are hosting an Arm Chair Traveler series this winter. Take advantage of learning more about another country from someone who has visited it first hand, or even lived there. Embrace the culture, the historical sights, the people, and even the food! All at the right price – Free! Our first trip will be Tuesday, February 7th at 7:00 pm at the Community Center. We are headed to Niger, West Africa with Justin and Kathy (Batalden) Smith who served there in the Peace Corps. On Tuesday, February 28th, Melody Altermatt will give us a virtual tour of sites and culture of Germany and the surrounding area. On Thursday, March 15th, Alice Thull takes us to Ireland. All three sessions will take place at the Lamberton Community Center at 7:00 pm. We may live small town lives, but come join an adventure and
spend an hour exploring another country.
Lamberton Area Friends of the Library Friends of the Library meetings will be the first Monday of the Month at 6:30 pm at

Many people believe that children learn to read and write in school, but developing early literacy skills starts much younger through everyday interactions - sharing books, telling stories, singing songs, talking, and naming objects. Families play a powerful role in preparing young for future school success and in becoming self-confident adn motivated learners. How it Works: 1. Register your child (ages 0-5) and receive a FREE book bag and reading record. 2. Write down the title of each library book that is read. 3. Receive a sticker for each 25 books read. 4. Receive a prize after each 100 books read.
5. Complete
1,000 books and be invited to a graduation pizza party and receive a
diploma,
