Library Card Application Form

Marshall no longer participates in the Plum Creek Regional Library System or the statewide resource sharing system.

If you live in Lyon County but outside the city limits of Marshall, you can pick up a new Plum Creek card free of charge at the Minneota Public Library, Tracy Public Library, or any other Plum Creek member library.

If you live in the city limits of Marshall and wish to use a Plum Creek Library System member library, you will need to pay the $25 annual non-resident fee for a new Plum Creek card.

We are sorry for this inconvenience brought on by the Marshall withdrawal from PCLS. You may contact the Marshall library staff or your Lyon County Commissioner for more information.

Disney Digital Books Have Arrived!

Plum Creek has expanded its digital collection with the addition of Disney Digital Books. This new collection features nearly 700 Disney Online Books and downloadable EPUB and PDF eBooks.

Disney Digital Books The Disney Online Books are browser based and can be enjoyed on a Windows or Mac computer. Titles offer interactive features to enhance the user experience such as a ‘magic pen’ that pronounces words with just one click, and the ability to look up word definitions. Users will recognize familiar Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Princesses, Hanna Montana, and more.

Users can browse, check out, and enjoy titles on their computer. Disney EPUB eBooks, along with the rest of the eBook collection, can be downloaded to a computer, plus transferred to a compatible eBook reader such as the Barnes & Noble Nook or Sony Reader. To check out both types of Disney Digital Books, users need a valid library card, computer, and Internet connection. At the end of the lending period, titles automatically expire and are returned to the collection.

The Plum Creek Library System partners with OverDrive, Inc. (www.overdrive.com), a global leader in digital media services, to offer this digital service.

Explore authors' entire works on Project Gutenberg.

Project Gutenberg

Want to have the entire works of William Shakespeare or Mark Twain in one file, and completely free?

One of the biggest benefits of ebooks is that they are convenient. One file can contain 5 thousand or 500 thousand words. Instead of downloading 50 separate books from one author, you can get most of their publications by clicking on a download button just once.

Our favorite source of free ebooks, Project Gutenberg, has on offer several files that include complete electronic publications of selected classic authors.

Help support Plum Creek's ebook collection!

A portion of each sale of digital content or other items, purchased from OverDrive WIN Affiliated Retailers using the “Buy it Now” link from Plum Creek’s ebook website, is credited back to Plum Creek.

The funds Plum Creek earns from the OverDrive WIN Affiliate Program will be a credit for the system to add digital content to its virtual branch. The titles and materials the library selects are at the system's discretion.
