October 1 - Laura & Dave Stubbe presents A Change of Heart
After the birth of their 5th child, Laura thought she’d be back to running her kids to
practices, helping Dave at the greenhouse and attending ECFE classes; but God had some
other plans for her and her family. Two weeks later, she suffered a major heart attack. Hear
how they made it through that difficult time, what they learned and how they are doing
now.

October 8 - Jaimi Michelson RN (Home Care Supervisor) presents Home Health Care
In need of possible nursing services in your home? Concerned about a loved one being able
to bathe safely? Does your mother need help setting up her medications correctly? Just
home from surgery and can't get out for physical therapy? These are all services that can be
provided in the comfort of your own home by the Des Moines Valley Health and Human
Services Public Health Department, formerly known as Community Health Services. They
are a Medicare Certified home care agency dedicated to keeping our residents safe and
healthy in their own homes. Come and find out how you, a loved one, or just someone you
are concerned about could receive home care services.

October 15 - Janelle Kaye presents Reconciliation With War: A Family Journey
Janelle’s book depicts how one soldier’s southwestern Minnesotan upbringing and values
affected his decisions made in WWII, how he became one of the silent heroes who received
the Distinguished Service Cross, the second highest honor a soldier can receive, how his
war experiences affected his entire family, and how he and his family recovered from
severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through embarking on a healing and
reconciliation journey. Come and hear Charles Sidney Willsher’s (Janelle’s dad) story.

October 22 - Bob Svoboda presents History of the B17 Flying Fortress Bomber
Bob Svoboda will share with us the history of the B17 Flying Fortress bomber and the other
planes that helped with the war against the axis powers in WW2. We will also hear stories
of the men that flew them.

October 29 - Kent Ringkob presents Experience Japan
Kent and Debi Ringkob try to do one big trip each year. Their most recent trip was to Japan
for Cherry blossom time this past spring. Kent will present a program that will include
many of his observations of this very interesting and beautiful country. Come and learn
about Japan.

November 12 - Mark Titus presents Genealogy
Mark will offer a brief introduction to genealogy and the best resources for researching your family history. Come and hear about techniques and ideas which will hopefully get you started on your way to a fulfilling lifetime of tracing your family tree.

November - 19 Dave Swanson presents Our Underwater World
Take the plunge and explore with us our underwater world. Dave Swanson from Blue Water Divers of Arnolds Park, IA will have a narrated video and documentary about saving our underwater world. You will be amazed to see aquatic creatures, fish and treasures that can be found on an adventure underwater, including shark teeth. You will hear about and see things from the Caribbean, the Pacific Ocean and West Lake Okoboji. Here is a chance to get away from everyday life and enter a world of stunning natural beauty.
