All children from birth to age five are welcome to participate in the “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” program offered at the Jackson County Libraries in Jackson, Lakefield and Heron Lake.
For every 20 books that are read, the child receives a sticker. After 500 books, the child receives a new paperback book. When 1000 books have been read, the child receives a second paperback book. In the fall of each year as needed, a “graduation” party will be held for those who have completed the program.
